The Dark Mode is a recent addition to the YouTube. Though the Dark Mode was around with the desktop browsers since 2017, it was introduced in March 2018 on iOS and later in July 2018 for Android.
How to enable YouTube Dark Mode on iOS
You can start using Dark Mode on your iOS devices if you have already installed the YouTube app on the iPhone or iPad. Tap on your account pictures on the top right corner of the app and open the Options menu, select Settings > Theme > Dark
These settings can be altered anytime you wish to change your mind. Simply reverse the steps above and toggle the switch back to Light. Else you can continue to enjoy the default Dark Mode whenever you open it.

The YouTube Dark Mode on Android has been recently introduced and like the iOS version, this is also is quite easy to set up.To enable the Dark Mode, you need to open the YouTube app and Go to the Settings and press General. Here you will find a button to switch to the Dark Mode.
Once you have switched it on it will be your default theme, if you wish to revert back to the light shade, simply repeat the above steps again and switch off the Dark Mode.
How to enable YouTube Dark Mode on Mac or PC
In case you are using a desktop to access the YouTube via a web browser, then click your account image located at the top right to access the menu. A little below you will notice a switch to activate Dark Theme.
The Dark Mode will continue to be active until you toggle it off by repeating the earlier steps.
