Nokia has been making some amazing Android smartphones, this time HMD global has launched the Nokia 2 globally last week and is ready for pre orders. The latest Nokia 2 smartphone is up for preorders in Russia for RUB 7900 approx Rs 8800/- and will go on sale in mid-November.
While HMD Global has not yet revealed the India pricing of the phone, speculations are being made that the smartphone will be priced at Rs 7,500 in India. If launched in India at the same price, the smartphone will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4A and Moto C Plus. The Redmi 4A comes in two variants, a 16GB storage model, which is priced at Rs 5,999, and a 32GB model priced at Rs 6,999. On the other hand, the Moto C Plus is priced at Rs 6,999.
The phone certainly seems to have a potential to attract users with a limited budget for smartphones. Though HMD Global has not disclosed the official price the phone will be available in India, speculations suggest it to be roughly priced decently around Rs7.500/-. The Nokia 2 smartphone will post a tough competition to others in this competitive budget phone segment. The segment is packed with competitors like the The Xiaomi Redmi 4A and Moto C Plus. The Redmi 4A with its two variants a 16GB phone priced at Rs 5,999, and a 32GB model priced at Rs 6,999. Along, with this, it will also have Moto C Plus priced at Rs 6,999 to compete with.
The Nokia 2 smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s entry-level Snapdragon 212 Mobile Platform, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage which can be expanded via microSD card. It comes with a 5 inch HD display and powerful 4000 mAh battery. It sports a 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. On the connectivity front the Nokia 2 comes with dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The phone runs on stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box, and also comes with Google Assistant onboard. As far as the Android Oreo update is concerned HMD Global has already promised it will be releasing the same soon before the end of this year.
