Motorola has announced the list of devices that will be updated to Oreo. Though the exact release dates have not been disclosed by the Lenovo owned company and are presently focused on handsets that were officially sold in the USA. The latest version of Android Oreo 8.0 Update released on 21st August 2017 was meant for Google Pixel and Nexus devices.
The list released by Motorola of devices getting the Android update does not consist of budget phones like Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus released in 2016. But we would like to inform our reader even though there will be no official update for these models, you will be able to get custom ROM from the XDA developers forum as these phones are just too popular to be neglected.

However, unless the device is unlocked, we might have to wait until the carriers push the updates for their respective devices.
To join the list of manufacturers who will get the latest android Oreo updates like HTC, OnePlus, and Nokia. HTC a few weeks ago revealed about HTC 10, HTC U Ultra and HTC 11 would be updated to Oreo. One Plus 3 and One Plus 3T from the One Plus stable will also get an Oreo updates and this will be the last update that they will receive the company confirmed. HTC Global also confirmed Nokia 8, Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will get the software update.
Presently there are around 15% devices running on Android Nougat. The introduction of Project Treble via Android Oreo will simplify the way Android updates work. Researchers are hoping this will fix the fragmentation issue in Android and updates will arrive much faster.
