As we are about to enter the new year, we have been hearing a lot about the Samsung Galaxy S10, but let’s take some time out and have a look at the LG G8. Reports suggest that the LG G8 will collaborate with Sprint to bring the first 5G smartphone in the US. This will happen in the first half of 2019.
According to ETNews, the LG G8 will also be a 4G only phone similar to the leaked information about Galaxy S10. The G8 will come with a water droplet style display notch, which is a welcome change from what we have seen on the LG G7 ThinQ. G series for the first time will come with an advanced depth-sensing camera, though it is not yet clear if the camera will be using infrared or time of flight technology. Also, there is no information if the camera will be on the rear or the front side.

There is some confusion about its codenames as well, as ET news refers to it as “Seal” whereas another prominent blogger Evan Blass calls it – “Alpha”.
LG is also planning to introduce a folding smartphone, codenamed “Stability” perhaps at CES 2019. According to Evan Blass though this plan is shelved. ET news says it’s more likely to be released in the third quarter of 2019.
It is confirmed LG will be releasing the Q9 in January. The LG Q9 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It will have a 6.1-inch display and a 3,000mAh battery.
