Facebook will be testing a new feature which will enable users to share events they are interested in attending to their Story. They can also be able to coordinate with friends to meet up and plan with them to attend.
The test feature consists of an option “Share to Your Story” that appears when you visit an event’s page on Facebook. When you share it, your friends will view a tappable sticker within your story which also contains the event details. This lets your friends respond if they are interested in the event right from the story itself.
Similarly, your friends can also tap on the sticker in the Story to visit the event page. Along with this, the new feature will also offer a list of friends who plan to attend the event. This will enable you to easily create a group chat with these users.
The feature introduces a test feature with young users in mind from selected markets.
Recently reports suggest Facebook is losing its young users at a rapid pace than previously expected. The user who is leaving the Facebook platform is moving over to other social networks like Snapchat and Instagram.
With more and more younger people starting to organize events using Instagram. Teens are creating private Instagram accounts for their events which includes date and handles of the organizers. If the account follows you, it’s your invite and if you send a follow request and are approved you are invited.
Instagram was not designed for the event, whereas Facebook is and can turn out to be a huge hit at the party account can remain private and anonymous. This certainly helps to hide away from the watchful eyes of parents.
The test Stories feature has been rolled out in countries like the US, Brazil, and Mexico. Facebook is trying to offer a new way to share and track events on its platform which will appeal to younger users.
It will take some time before it hits in India, but for the others, you can go to the Events page click “Share” below the date and time of the event and Tap “Share to Story”.
If your friends wish to attend the event they simply need to tap “interested” and you can view their responses. Tap on the circles next to the friends in the list and you get started with the group chat.
