Rumors have been around for quite some time suggesting Airpod case getting support for wireless charging. Apple has finally confirmed the release of AirPods case that will support wireless charging. This product will be released at the beginning of 2019. This has been confirmed in a blog post on 9to5Mac by Ming-Chi Kuo an Apple analyst, he often provides accurate news reports.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, another robust design will be released later by 2020. This may include sweat resistance or a more seamless Hey Siri integration. He has made these predictions without further going into 2020 redesign specifics though.
There still seems doubt over the actual wireless charger as there is no mention of an actual wireless charging pad. Though the AirPods case will support wireless charging it seems like AirPower project might still need some working.
Users are expecting to see a release update to AirPods or AirPower, at the iPhone and iPad events this fall. But it seems they will be disappointed as there is no announcement made regarding this by Apple.
According to Kuo, the AirPods Bluetooth will get upgrades along with the case in 2019. He also suggests that the AirPods might turn out to be Apple’s most popular accessory ever. Resulting in giving Apple huge revenues via sales growth of the product.
But truly one wonders where is AirPower. Do leave us your comments.
