After North Korea claimed to have successfully conducted a test of a hydrogen bomb – being the country’s sixth nuclear test, many consider it might trigger a world war of sorts. Elon Musk chooses to differ when he said in his recent tweets – North Korea “should be low on our list of concerns for civilizational existential risk”. He further said – “Competition for AI superiority at a national level most likely cause of WW3 imo”. Here imo stands for internet shorthand “in my opinion”. Such will be the power of AI that it may decide who will dominate the global stage in terms of global power.
China, Russia, soon all countries w strong computer science. Competition for AI superiority at national level most likely cause of WW3 imo.

Another powerful global leader Vladimir Putin also came up with his view about AI. He feels we need to forget the arms race or space race as the new battle for technological dominance revolves around AI.
Vladimir Putin while addressing students at a career guidance forum that the “future belongs to artificial intelligence and whoever is first to dominate this category will be the ruler of the world.”
His speech clearly suggested Russia fully intends to be a leader in the AI space, though it would not want to monetize its technology. He clearly showed his intention to share AI knowledge with the entire world in the same way as it shares its nuclear technology. Though Russia might not share all its AI secrets to the world the country might share some of what it learns.
Both the personalities have presented their thoughts about AI, but we would say Putin’s remarks are more realistic and close to reality. Do let us know what you think about AI in the near future.
