Apple has announced the iOS 12.1 latest update for iPhone and iPad from today. This update will bring the latest features like group FaceTime, dual-SIM support for all new iPhones, 70 new emojis, and a fix for over-smooth selfies.
Earlier at the developer conference WWDC, back in June Apple had announced the group Facetime feature which supports up to 32 people. Since then the company has added more features to Facetime. Other features include a feature where during a group call, Facetime will automatically detect the active participant and bring them to the forefront. You can tap a particular person’s title and bring them to the center also.
Also, you can start a group Facetime call directly from the messages app. Apple confirmed all calls made on Facetime will be protected by the end to end encryption.
Apple has been working on dual sim compatibility for its latest iPhones. With the iOS 12.1 latest update, you will be able to get support for eSIM functionality. In this way, consumers can now use two sims without having to insert the second sim physically. Instead, you can verify if your carrier supports eSIM.
Another feature introduced is the depth control for portrait photos for the new iPhones. The latest update will allow users to change the depth of field via a slider in the live preview as well. Previously it was only possible to control the depth of field via post-capture.
Those who like to use emojis the latest updates along with the Cupertino company will introduce 70 emoji’s which includes a freezing face, a pleading face, lettuce, cupcakes, and an infinity symbol.
Also, sources suggest the iOS 12.1 latest update will tweak the algorithm for SmartHDR to make the selfies look more natural.
