The US government’s recent sanctions against the ZTE highlights the reality that Chinese companies have not yet acquired components based parts technology which is the core of the smartphone industry. Huawei based on the sales volume, China’s second largest smartphone manufacturer uses Kirin processor in its other brand ‘Honor’. Kirin is manufactured by its own subsidiary HiSilicon, however other Chinese manufacturers are not using it in their smartphones.
Why Does Huawei Not Supply Kirin To Other SmartPhone Manufacturers?
This is the question which arises in many people’s mind. Huawei executives revealed in the International Paper on the Communist Party Agency Paper.
In a recent interview, Brody Li, Senior Product Director, Huawei said
Kirin chip is not just one product, it is a kind of intellectual property, which brings competitive advantage to the company with competitors is there. This seems to have said that our company will be a factor that will outstrip other companies in the market .
He further added based on this thinking for example, if OPPO discontinues the supply of chips due to sanctions from the United States like ZTE, Huawei has a chance to overcome OPPO and there will be no need to sell Kirin chips to OPPO.
Although the Chinese government plans to move towards self-sufficiency in the manufacturing of the chips, Huawei seems to have a different way of thinking when it comes to the Communist Party of China.
Brondy Li said “It is not that I knew something about the government policy, those who lost competitors in China It is decided that it is good “
We are not sure if the Chinese market economy will be free in the future or severe in the future. Please leave your comments – do you think Kirin processor should be made available to other phone manufacturers?
