Just a day after we heard about Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone, today we get news about yet another foldable phone with some fancy renders and patents filed. Huawei has now come up with its first foldable smartphone which in fact might also have 5G capabilities and this is how it may look.
Reports suggest that Samsung and Lenovo are working on prototypes of their foldable phones. But the latest information provided by LetsGoDigital seems to throw some insight on Huawei take on its first foldable phone.
The render images published suggest the Huawei foldable smartphone resembles Microsoft’s Surface Book which comes with a “scorpion hinge”. Whereas Huawei’s patent suggests the display might be on the outside. Samsung foldable phone comes with a clamshell design. Huawei form factor eliminated the need of a second screen when it is closed. The screen is exposed to the outside which might be prone to damages.
According to LetsGoDigital, the foldable device will come with a large display. This will be even bigger than what Samsung will be offering in its foldable phone. Taking the large display into account looks like it will turn out to be a bigger phone. The Huawei foldable phone will have a unique hinge design and has plans to ship it with a stylus.
The device has no name given to it but looks like it will be branded as Mate. The specs of the smartphone are also not known, but going by Huawei’s pre-MWC press briefing seems like it will be powered by Kirin 980 processor along with a Balong 5000 5G modem.
Certainly, foldable phones seem to be the trend this year. Please leave your valuable comments and tell us about your thoughts on foldable phones.
