BSNL has released a latest postpaid plan to get one up with the competition from the private players like Vodafone, Airtel and Reliance Jio. The latest postpaid plan is priced at Rs 299 and aims to target new subscribers. Under this plan, users will get unlimited local and national calling, unlimited texts, and unlimited data. Users will get to make unlimited calls in all BSNL circles which means they will be able to make free local and roaming voice calls. Though this will not be applicable in the case of Mumbai and Delhi circles where the state-run telco has no presence.
The other value feature added to this pack it comes with unlimited texts. This comes with a 100 SMS cap per day, both local and national. Along with this, you get unlimited data with a FUP where users get 31GB high-speed 3G (or 2G) data. This is offered throughout the validity period without any daily limits. Once this limit is crossed you will get a normal speed of 80Kbps. Though other operators offer carryforward of data BSNL does not offer any such options.
Currently, BSNL is offering additional 2.2GB daily data to its users and posing a challenge to private players like Reliance Jio. Compared to Reliance Jio who offer a Rs 199 Plan which offers unlimited local and national calls without any FUP, 100 free local and national SMS daily.
Along with this, you get a complimentary subscription to Jio app suite. The users get data benefits with 25GB high-speed data, and once the limit is exceeded users can still continue downloading at 4G speeds, but they will be charged at Rs 20 per GB.
Vodafone, on the other hand, is offering a Rs 299 plan which offers unlimited calling without any FUP. Also,it offers 100 SMS every month, and 20GB 4G/3G/2G data. Just like BSNL even Vodafone does not allow carry forward of data with this plan.
BSNL gets an upper hand as it still offers 31GB data, compared to 25GB on Vodafone.
