The latest Android Pie makes the mobile operating system simpler and clearer, but you may have some trouble finding the splitscreen mode. In this article, we will show you how to enable splitscreen mode in Android Pie and how you use it.
How To Enable Splitscreen Mode In Android Pie
The split screen mode was introduced since the launch of Android 7.0 (Nougat). The split screen comes in handy as it allows you to use two apps at the same time. For example, if you are making notes with the Google Keep while you are watching YouTube video or you can also check a WhatsApp call for a while. In the earlier version of Android, you were able to do this by holding an app in the multitasking screen and dragging it to the top of the screen. Later you simply tap the second app to use both the apps at the same time.
Things are a little different when it comes to Android Pie, as it has an updated overview of recent apps. You can enable the Splitscreen mode by following the steps mentioned below on your smartphone running on Android 9.0.
- Open the multitask screen by pressing the navigation button at the bottom right. If you are using the gesture control of Pie, then you swipe upwards from the single button at the bottom.
- Swipe to the app you wish to use in split screen, tap the app icon at the top and keep it pressed for a while. You will then see the option ‘Split screen’ appear.
- Press and then select the second app.
