Google recently launched Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL also a new app was listed on the Play Store called Pixel Ambient Services. This app comes with some interesting features like the one we will be talking in this article. The always-on music identification feature is supported on the latest phones offered by Google.
Google has described the apps saying – Pixel Ambient Services provides features based on the local context for Pixel devices. The app helps to enable local song identification, which plugs into the ambient display. The Settings Screen with the Now Playing feature recognizes music playing in the background and identifies the song. You don’t need to send any data to Google in order to do this. Simply you get a small popup on the lock screen and the ambient display.
Pixel Ambient Services is currently available only for the newer Pixel devices and might not work on the older Pixel devices. Maybe they will get an updated support more like “local context” features on the Pixels later. You can download Pixel Ambient Services Apps by clicking the link below.
