WhatsApp has proved to be a popular app amongst the masses across the globe. The app makes it possible to chat, share photos and videos and even have voice conversations making it convenient for millions to reach out to friends and family in an economical way. With so many features WhatsApp is still a simple and easy app for communication.
WhatsApp comes with its advantages but at times can be irritating as well to hear the beeps of incoming messages continuously while you are busy doing some important work. At other times it has just become an addiction where you tend to constantly check for new messages. Once you have installed the app on your phone it simply becomes inseparable unless you decide to uninstall the app completely.
Uninstalling the app permanently is not a solution when especially when you intend to take a break from constant messaging or while you are busy to respond. Instead, there is a way where you can be present on WhatsApp without being identified of your presence without the need to uninstall the app.
Turn off visibility
One of the easiest ways to stay away from the app is to turn off your visibility. This can be done by going to your app Settings, go into the account, Privacy and then set last seen, profile photo, about and status to ‘Nobody’, and read receipts to ‘off’.
This will make you invisible to all the contacts on your WhatsApp ie they will not be able to see any information about you. It’s only when you access your WhatsApp people will notice you are ‘Online’, which may perhaps not make you entirely invisible on WhatsApp but is good enough to stay camouflaged.
Turn off notifications
Turning off the notifications is a good option to stay away from WhatsApp. Notification surely makes it your habit to reach for the phone. Simply turning them off will ensure you don’t reach for your phone. You can either switch off notifications entirely or put them on vibrate mode on your smartphone by going into the app. Enter the Settings Menu amongst the other options you will also have Notifications tab, Set it to None. This will prevent you from receiving any notification from WhatsApp.
A word of caution different smartphones come with different settings, in some when you disable notification it disables entirely all notifications on the phone along with WhatsApp notification so be careful what your phone setting do.
Easier said than done, simply ignore WhatsApp. Try to entirely avoid using WhatsApp as the moment you access the app you will be seen online. You can never hide your live presence on WhatsApp, even if all other visibility options are off. People if they are online they will be able to see you online if they are on your chat. It will need all your willpower to stay away from WhatsApp.
Another possible way to make you cut off from WhatsApp is to delete the app icon from your home screen. We believe if you don’t have easy access to the app it will prove to be a deterrent. This feature also depends on the phone model you are using as some phones allow you to hide apps even from the app drawer, or place them in ‘app lockers’ which makes it difficult to find them unless you know what you’re looking for. These methods solely depend on your urge to stay away from WhatsApp.
We are sure these steps will allow you to stay away from WhatsApp. If you wish to get back to WhatsApp again it’s simple reverse the steps we just mentioned and you are good to go.
