As we finished writing about the recently listed Pixel Ambient Services App, which was in fact launched prior to the launch of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. We already talked about the always-on music ID feature, the app also has another interesting feature will enable you to automatically toggle on Do Not Disturb mode when you’re driving.
Pixel Ambient Services App comes with a screen having references to the Do Not Disturb Mode. Here you have a “driving” setting screen as part of this services app. When you turn that on, Do Not Disturb mode will activate when you are driving based on the sensors present on the phone. The feature sounds interesting but it comes with its drawbacks as it won’t detect if you are actually behind the driving wheel or seated as a passenger as for the phone sensors it will look same. Apart from the sensors the Bluetooth also helps in determining if you are in the car, we guess you will need to be connected to the car for this feature to trigger. It is rather too early to come to conclusions but we will sure keep you informed once we get our hands on the latest Pixel 2.
